The class is a portfolio review for each student, following a story outline given in class at the start.
The 10 weeks will include:
- Teaching how to build a style guide - showing actual style guides from previous animated movies like "The Croods" and Kung Fu Panda.
- Launching a story outline ( simple) _ students will have to build their own style guide following a pre-existing keynote presentation .
- Every week the students will build upon the different stage of movie making which include : choosing the style they want to develop for environments and character design. color choice, textures, props, and vehicles .
- Every week, I will review their own portfolios with every one of them, including the current homeworks being teach during the class.
- Each classes will introduce different exercise, included into the style guide (but it is not a classic "how to design" but rather an overall view to start and organize ideas and thoughts. Not expecting high skill level.
Students can use what ever works for them, traditional or digital. BUT, when we build the style guide, they will have to access the net for references .
