SB1 Storyboarding 1

SB1 Storyboarding 1

Experience an introduction to the skills and language of storyboarding for animation. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of storyboarding, including the basics of cinematography, pacing, and script breakdown. Students will also learn the fundamental rules of storyboarding, and when—if ever—it is okay to break them. By the end of the class, participants will gain the foundational skills needed to create clear and engaging storyboards. Story 1 aims to introduce you to the world of storyboarding in animation. We will develop your draftsmanship, study the history of cinema, and strengthen your understanding of the storyboarding craft. This is an introductory course; no experience is necessary. Focus: Developing basic analytical and critical thinking skills for storyboarding and learning how to view storyboarding as a design problem for visual communication.
This course is 10 weeks in duration and meets once per week for 3 hours per meeting.
Each week, the online classes are live at the specified time (PST timezone) in a private GOTO-MEETING classroom. Classes are recorded and students can rewatch via stream for the duration of the term. Class links, teachers notes, class recordings along with homework submission will be hosted on a private class DISCORD. The DISCORD link will be sent approximately 5-7 days prior to your class start date to the registered email address.
