GPSB Grease Pencil Storyboard with Blender

In this storyboard course, we will be focusing on the tool set of Grease Pencil with Blender.Each week, students will learn how to integrate a 2d and 3d workflow. This will allow students to draw more on models, which is a great way to troubleshoot geography issues. We will also be exploring detailed blender functions that relate to storyboarding. Our course will develop 2 portfolio pieces. A chase scene and dramatic scene. We will also examine and discuss how to use asset libraries and efficiency tips.

This course is 10 weeks in duration and meets once per week for 3 hours per meeting.

Each week, the online classes are live at the specified time (PST timezone) in a private GOTO-MEETING classroom. Classes are recorded and students can rewatch via stream for the duration of the term. Class links, teachers notes, class recordings along with homework submission will be hosted on a private class DISCORD. The DISCORD link will be sent approximately 5-7 days prior to your class start date to the registered email address.

Just Blender is needed, Storyboard Pro is highly recommended.\ Pre Req: Student should know basic storyboard/ cinematography terminology. But the class is doable for both advanced 2d artists and nonartists that have a knack for learning software.

David Maximo is a veteran storyboard artist and director. He has worked on projects such as Mike Tyson Mysteries, Star Wars Rebels, Batman: The Long Halloween, Pantheon, Rise of the TMNT:The Movie, and Legend of Vox Machina. Although he has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he has been able to learn his craft by taking various satellite schools in Los Angeles, and has since never used the quadratic equation ever again. He is currently an Assistant Director at Marvel Studios, working on the long-awaited revival, X-Men 97.’
