Students will learn how to understand value and contrast and how it is useful for color application. We will be following a brief overview on color script creation for animation that will be shown in demo form. Students will also learn narrative based techniques through lighting and composition. We will also learn how to compile and use any type of reference for painting images in creative ways. Dom Lay is a freelance artist specializing in visual development, concept, storytelling, and world-building. Over the course of his artistic career he has developed, marketed, and sold personal intellectual properties globally. Meanwhile, he also teaches digital painting courses on the side and enjoys sharing knowledge with new up and coming artists entering the entertainment field.
5 weeks, 2 hours per week. The course is structured to deliver focused information and techniques. Each week there will be live demonstrations and lectures. There is no feedback offered in this course.
Each week, the online classes are live at the specified time (PST timezone) in a private GOTO-MEETING classroom. Classes are recorded and students can rewatch via stream for the duration of the term. Class links, teachers notes, class recordings along with homework submission will be hosted on a private class DISCORD. The DISCORD link will be sent approximately 5-7 days prior to your class start date to the registered email address.
