Are you ready to unleash your potential in concept art, environmental design, character design, storyboarding, and digital painting? At Brainstorm School, our expert-led online courses offer a unique blend of theory and practical application, equipping you with the skills to excel in your chosen field. Whether you're a novice seeking to master the basics or a seasoned professional looking to enhance your portfolio, our diverse range of courses is designed to unlock your creative power.

All our courses are delivered online and are conducted live with the instructor. This means you'll be actively participating in the learning process, not just passively watching videos. You'll be expected to be present for the lessons throughout the duration of the course, which includes engaging lectures, interactive sessions, demos, and feedback. The class will meet in an online meeting room hosted by Brainstorm School.

No in-person classes are offered at this time.

Build a focused skill set within this project-themed class to show your abilities to problem solve, design and meet artistic requirements experienced in a high pace art department. Learn to design high-level environments and props / supportive designs that belong in an environment concept. Key focuses during the course will be on artistic quality, presentation and professionalism. James Paick, Concept artist & Instructor Co-Founder of Brainstorm School. Founder of Scribble Pad Studios. Concept artist for over 20 years in the video game, film, advertising and illustration industries with clients such as RIOT games, Netflix, Activision, Blizzard, Treyarch and more! Focus: Build a concept design portfolio for advanced students. Showcase all of your skills while showing your ability and creative process.
This course is 10 weeks in duration and meets once per week for 3 hours per meeting.
Each week, the online classes are live at the specified time (PST timezone) in a private GOTO-MEETING classroom. Classes are recorded and students can rewatch via stream for the duration of the term. Class links, teachers notes, class recordings along with homework submission will be hosted on a private class DISCORD. The DISCORD link will be sent approximately 5-7 days prior to your class start date to the registered email address.

Course prices vary depending on the course you take and its duration. A processing fee and a handling fee are attached to each transaction. Tuition in full is due during time of registration.

Don't worry if you can't pay in full upon registration. We understand that financial situations can vary, so we offer flexible payment arrangements. A 50% deposit and registration fee are required upon registration, and the remaining balance can be paid in installments. However, please note that if the payments have not been completed prior to the start of the course, you might be subject to a $50 late payment, or you could lose your place on the course.

Depending on the course you choose to take, it can take anywhere from 5 to 12 weeks. Flash courses are typically 2 hours per week for 5 weeks. All longer courses, such as character design and storyboarding, are 3-hour sessions for the duration of the course.
